Responsible gambling — full guide
All settings are configured from Account > Responsible gambling in your profile. Reductions apply instantly; increases require a mandatory 24-hour cool-off to prevent impulsive decisions.
Deposit limit
Set a cap on how much you can deposit per day, week or month. Once you hit the cap, the cashier rejects further deposits until the next period. You can combine several (for example £50 daily + £200 weekly). It's the most-recommended tool for most players.
Loss limit
A cap on net losses per period. When you hit the limit (regardless of how much you deposited), the system blocks new bets until the next period. Useful for capping long sessions where deposits can escalate.
Session time limit
Set a maximum session duration (30 min, 1h, 2h, etc.). When it hits, a message interrupts play offering to log out or pause. Useful for "getting stuck" in slots.
Reality check (periodic alerts)
Every 30/60/90 minutes a pop-up appears with your session summary: accumulated deposits, total bet, net loss/win and time elapsed. Helps you keep track of progress. Enabled by default for new players; can be turned off.
Self-exclusion (pause or closure)
The strongest self-control tool. Completely blocks the account for the elected period. During exclusion you cannot:
- Log in or play
- Deposit
- Receive promotional emails or notifications
- Lift the exclusion before the term ends (not even via support)
You can withdraw the available balance at the moment you activate the exclusion.
How to activate self-exclusion
- Log in and go to Responsible gambling > Self-exclusion
- Choose the term (24h to permanent)
- Read the legal notice and confirm with your password
- The exclusion activates immediately. Your active session ends and you can't log back in until the term ends.

Warning signs of problem gambling
If you recognise yourself in several of these phrases, it's a sign gambling may be affecting other areas of your life:
- You spend more than you planned every time you play
- You deposit more than once in the same session to "chase" losses
- You hide what you bet from family or partner
- You borrow (from family, friends, credit cards) to keep playing
- You feel irritable or anxious when you can't play
- You think about the next deposit while at work or with family
- You've already lost money earmarked for important expenses (rent, food, bills)
- You promise to stop and can't keep the promise
Any single point on its own doesn't mean problem gambling; the pattern of several together does. When in doubt, call 0808 8020 133 — the first conversation is exploratory, no obligation to commit to treatment.
Protecting minors
The minimum age to play at Mr Punter is 18, mandatorily verified by ID document during KYC. Detecting underage play is a shared responsibility:
- Don't share passwords or active sessions with anyone under 18
- Use parental controls on your device (iOS Screen Time, Android Family Link, Windows Family Safety)
- Install specific blocking software if you suspect misuse: Gamban (paid, high effectiveness), BetBlocker (free, developed by a recovery charity) — both block access to every gambling site at the device level
